Our mission at The Wiggly Tooth is to help children reach adulthood without being fearful or anxious of dental visits.
When a child has a bad experience at the dentist when they are young, they are less likely to seek routine preventive dental care when they grow up!
Our Practice
Dr. Shahbazi, Dr. Bland, and Dr. Korf are specialists in the field of Pediatric Dentistry. This requires the completion of an additional two-to-three years of advanced training beyond the traditional eight years of education to become a dentist.
Dr. Bland and Dr. Shahbazi have received extensive training in sedation dentistry beyond their residency programs. Together, they have completed thousands of cases using sedation dentistry practices.
Along with being Dr. Shahbazi and Dr. Bland's mentor, Dr. Korf is a lifetime member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, has practiced pediatric dentistry in Scottsdale for decades, and is an expert in non-sedation pediatric dentistry.

Good habits start early. We recommend bringing your child to see us by their first birthday. These visits will allow us to catch any dental issues that may be starting early. Your kids will also get used to visiting us! For all the moms and dads with kiddos under three years old – If you think they’re going to be quiet during their exam, think again! Don’t panic. We’re the exterminators. We will take care of your little one’s with white crowns on their front teeth, and white fillings/silver crowns on their back teeth. if a tooth is lost too soon in the back, we will make a space maintainer for proper growth and development. We typically recommend some form of sedation dentistry with most kids. It relaxes them, which makes our job a lot easier. That’s the gist. Oh yeah, they’re going to love us too!

Sometimes children may need to “go to sleep” in order to have their dental treatment completed. This is accomplished by working with an anesthesiologist in our office.

Dr. Bland is an amazing man and dentist. He always provides my three boys with the best care possible and has provided a positive experience every time we go in. Our boys love when he plays the guitar and sings some of their favorite songs. I’m also very impressed on how easy the oral conscious sedation he provided was. It provided a painless, non stressful situation for our 3 year old who refused the first time to let him get into his mouth. We will be going to this office as long as we live here in Arizona. Although it’s a long drive from Peoria to Scottsdale (passing hundreds of offices along the way) it is worth the time and money for the experience that is provided.

This is the most fun, caring, interesting and awesome dentist’s office we have ever experienced. Right away we felt comfortable and at home. The waiting room is fun for kids, with books, TV, drawing supplies, a piano, and an awesome new-school old-school Pac-Man/electronic games machine. It is also comfortable for parents, complete with a coffee station. The interior spaces are decorated in inviting, fun ways. They didn’t have any openings in their schedule but we’re still able to accommodate us for a next day extraction. The staff is wonderful, caring, and fully attentive. Awesome husband and wife doctor team with great nurses and awesome bedside manner. Would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great pediatric dentist. We even drive 30 minutes to get here!The only problem I have is that I’m not a child so they can’t see me as a patient!

his was our first time at the dentist and it was a great experience as soon as I we walked through the door. Tara and Adrianna made the experience for me and my son amazing. I found out forever dentist for my kids. The dental office is very cute and cozy. Staff were super friendly and took their time with my young boys. Dr. Shahbazi was great explaining everything to my son so there was no surprises or fear on unknown for him. My 3 year old son is a handful and everyone here is so patient with him. I actually had a professional behavior coach with me (for my 7 year old) and even he was impressed by the way the staff handled my 3 year old. My son is still not a fan of the dentist office and tries to talk me out of it every time we pull up in the parking lot, but he knows some of the staff by name and doesn't hold it against them at all. He's very fond of Dr. Korf's original staff and liked The Wiggly Tooth staff just as much. I was nervous when I found out Dr. Korf was transitioning to retirement and handing over the practice, but winners pick winners.

Dr. Korf, now with The Wiggly Tooth, has been a wonderful dentist for my kids for a long time. His experience can't be beat. Our prior Pediatric Dentist wanted to do extra, unnecessary work including unnecessary x-rays on my small children. I was treated uncomfortably for not "going along." Why subject your children to that if it is not necessary and not needed? Under the guidance and care of Dr. Korf as my children's dentist for many years, my children's teeth are beautiful and healthy. Thank you Dr. Korf. Also, Amanda at the front desk has gone out of her way to take time to help me with appointments, paperwork and billing.

I am an ASU pre-dental student who has been given the opportunity of shadowing at this wonderful office. I have the upmost respect for Dr. Shahbazi and all of the amazing professionals within the office. Having visited a variety of offices, The Wiggly Tooth has the most welcoming staff and Dentists who truly care for their patients, comfort levels, and building lasting connections with them. Going to the dentist can be a very scary experience for a young child and I have seen first hand how Dr. Shahbazi combats this by creating a calm and welcoming environment and walking the patients through their care. I cannot recommend this clinic enough because of the incredible staff and outstanding Dentists.

Dr. Shahbazi and Dr. Bland are both outstanding and respectful professionals. I am a pre-dental student from ASU who shadows both Dr. Bland and Dr. Shahbazi and I could only say that my experiences from both of these Dentists are strictly positive. Throughout the office I have witnessed an environment full of positivity, professionalism, and opened-minded people throughout the staff which helps create a very welcoming experience, especially for young kids scared for their first dental visit. I would say that it is definitely a unique experience coming to this dental clinic compared to others due to the fact that there is so much care and effort that is coming from this staff to their patients, which is something that isn’t usually seen in some clinics. I recommend this clinic because Dr. Bland and also Dr. Shahbazi build connections with their patients and help them understand why it’s important to keep teeth healthy and clean.

My first visit of the Wiggly Tooth in the Desert Cove location was terrible! They recently took over ownership for my kids’ former pediatric dentist, Dr. Korf, who was retiring. We have been going to Dr. Korf’s pediatric dentist office for at least 18 years and we never had a problem under Dr. Korf’s ownership. Once I arrived, they didn’t greet me with a friendly smile. Instead, they told me that I was 30 minutes late. They ended up changing the times to my kids dentist appointments 30 minutes earlier, without notifying me as the parent, which I set up months ago. Instead of them apologizing and showing polite courteous customer service, they acted rudely and made it seem like it was my fault. They said that they would still take my kid’s in for a cleaning, but that we would have to wait after they see 2 other patients, which they moved ahead of us. I told them never mind and said that I will no longer go to their office and walked out.

We had the best experience at The Wiggly Tooth! My son is almost two and this was his first dentist appointment and it was so fun, quick and easy. Nurse Adrianna was sweet and attentive, Dr. Najmeh was tender and thorough when cleaning my son’s teeth, and to top it off we got serenaded by Dr. Nicholas which was just the icing on the cake! My son had fun and was all smiles when we left the appointment. I would absolutely recommend this place for your kiddos!

First off, this experience was incredible!! They had the best waiting room, perfect for children. Dr. Bland and Adriana (as well as the rest of the staff we encountered) were so personable and friendly. They got all three of my kids in due to some cancellations, no questions asked. We all had such a great time. Bland came in with a guitar and played whatever nursery songs my kids wanted him to do. The crown he built on my baby girls tooth is PERFECT!! My kids cannot wait for their next appointment and frankly neither can I!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff is exceptionally sweet and personable. The lobby has plenty of toys and a very spatial area where kids can play while they wait but also to ease them into the appointment. My son loved the attention and how interactive the staff was with him. He was told about a treasure box and that he’d be able to pick a toy to take with him after his appointment which was a very motivating factor for him. The staff also played his favorite cartoon on the screen and my son immediately felt like at home. Dr. Naji is very gentle and fun, my son responded really well to her, to the point, where he is motivated to let me floss his teeth at home now, all because Dr. Naji “said so”. I’m very thankful for his experience that was so positive that he is going to want to go back. Thank you Wiggly Tooth we will be back!!!!!

My daughter was scared to death to go to the dentist. She went to the Wiggly tooth with anxiety and came back smiles. The dentist and staff were amazing from booking the appointment to taking care of her. She wasn’t afraid going back to have work done. He made her laugh and feel at ease. I had my daughter at another dentist. She had to have 4 teeth pulled and was super scared. The dentist wasn’t very friendly. She gave my daughter a bunch of shots and just started to pull out the teeth. My daughter freaked out and slipped out from the nitrous. The dentist pointed her finger and told my kid she needed to stop or she would give her 10 more shots. So this is how we found Wiggly Tooth!!! They are so amazing!!!! He came in sang a cute song to her made her feel safe and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t get the work done. She has a very high tolerance to any medication. She woke up just as he was starting and she became to wiggly herself. It made my husband and I comfortable to know he wasn’t comfortable continuing with her being so wiggly. He was very informative and walked us threw the process. We will be going back definitely. Oh and I drive 33 minutes 1 way.

The staffs were very friendly and helpful and the dentists were honest and straight forward. I have been to other dentists that exaggerated what my needs were in order to make more money. So it was a relief to find a dentist with integrity for my kids.All of my children loved both Drs (Dr Shahbazi and Dr Bland).The professionalism and friendliness of the whole team was outstanding,So that is a seriously highly recommended If you wanna take very good care of your kids.My experience after 3 different visits.Mother of 3Somy

Dr. Shahbazi and Dr. Bland are amazing pediatric dentists. From what I've seen they really care about their patients and make sure they feel comfortable. One of my favorite things is when Dr. Bland starts singing and playing the guitar, the kiddos love it! I definitely recommend The Wiggly Tooth Pediatric Dentists!! 🙂

Dr Bland and Dr. Shahbazi are amazing with children, the amount of love and care they put into their chosen craft really shows in their patients smiles. Nich playing guitar for new patients is just amazing and helps build a safe space for all. Highly recommend this one of a kind practice. -Birche Meese

My grandson Jace went to the dentist today for the first time at 4 yrs old. Dr. Bland was Amazing!!!! He played his guitar and sang to Jace which was wonderful because it made Jace forget how nervous he was. This is by far the best Dentist visit that I've ever encountered. I just have one question, " will you sing to me before working on my teeth Dr. Bland? LOL... Your the Best!! Thank you for making Jaces first dentist visit comfortable and memorable. We were 100% satisfied!
